3 Months

My baby is 3 months already! Crazy. And it's been the best 3 months ever.

He's a very happy boy, and loves to smile at everyone and 

show off his dimples :)

He loves to suck and chew on his hands and keeps himself entertained by doing so.

He is learning to reach for and grab toys and bring them to his mouth. He gets the funniest concentrated 

face and if he doesn't get it in his mouth the first time, he gets 

frustrated. He may be a bit like his momma….

He {usually} sleeps like a champion at night. He goes to bed around 10 and wakes up at 6 to eat then goes back down until 8!

His little laugh is soooo cute and he laughs at his momma lots!

Him and his daddy have their own secret language where Chase will make funny noises at him and Kruse will repeat them.

He loves to watch the TV, and his daddy thinks he likes football the best.

He weighs 13 lbs and 13 oz and is 25 inches long.

Halloween and Thanksgiving Fun!

What a busy past couple of months! Quick recap of the doings of the baby, the husband and I. 

Halloween was pretty fun this year. We got together with our best friends and had a little party and Kara and Devin's new house! We carved pumpkins, ate pizza, played catch phrase and ate lots of candy. On Halloween, I got super sick again. It rotated off between having the chills and having a fever, it was awful. I had really wanted to make Kruse's Halloween costume, but couldn't make it the week before because I was sick that entire week as well! So a couple hours before we went to my mom's I fought through my sickness and hurried and made his costume…. a little sock monkey! It was actually a good distraction and I got it done pretty quickly. 

I started with a sweater from the D.I….

 And ended up with this.

The sleeves and the tail are from an old shirt and the scarf is actually a boy scout hankerchief that I found in my mom's "lost-and-found" cabinet. I think he made a pretty cute sock monkey myself :)

The sweater was wool so it was super scratchy, so I sewed it over a onsie that I had. If you look closely, you can tell I totally sewed it with no pattern, no technique and no skill, but it's ok from far away! One-of-a-kind costume for $5 and a couple of hours. Not bad, huh?

We also went to Gardner's Village the week before with my mother-in-law and two sister-in-laws, and Kruse was dressed as a monster. 

 I love his little monster socks! A great $1 bin find at Target by Syriah and Olivia. 

This Thanksgiving was spent with the Warnicks. It was just Chase's immediate family, and we had a good time together. The week was spent just hanging out, mixed with a little black friday shopping :)

I made a quick turkey outfit for Kruse and it was pretty funny!

Can't wait for Christmas!!

Blessing Day

On November 6th, we had Kruse's blessing. It was a wonderful day and we had lots of friends and family come! Six out the eight of my siblings were there, and my oldest brother even flew him and his kids out from Denver to come. Bridger is still in Boston at MIT and my sister had just moved to California, but at least her girls were there, they are my favorite :)

We got one picture before the blessing, and good thing we did! Kruse decided he needed to have a GIGANTIC blow-out about 10 minutes after he got blessed, and it got EVERYWHERE! All over Chase's suit pants, all over Kruse's blanket and outfit, and all over Aunt Amy! After two vigorous scrubbings, a wash and some bleach, we finally got his outfit clean. And good thing too because it was Chase's blessing outfit from over 23 years ago! So that's why he's in his pajamas in these pictures :)

I love my little dimple boy!

Little Kruse Man is 2 Months!

Yup, my little boy is 2 months old and as sweet as ever! Here are a few things about Kruse at this age:

He smiles all the time. The big kind where you can see both dimples. 

He never stops wiggling, never ever. 

He loves to be held by his momma, and loves to stare at his daddy and will follow him with his eyes around the room.

He tries to laugh, but no noise comes out. Just a really really happy face.

He sleeps from 9:00 to 5:00 {almost} every night and takes little cat naps an hour after he eats all throughout the day. Sometimes he naps for 15 minutes, sometimes for an hour. 

He loves his binki.

He always has the toots.....always.

He is NOISY! Loves to makes all sorts of noises....he coos, grunts, squeals and sighs all day long. {And all night long!}

To get him to stay asleep, his arms have to be wrapped up tight against his body even for naps or he will start wiggling and wake himself up. He hates to be wrapped up at first and will grunt, squeal and kick but will fall asleep pretty quickly.

His dad says his poop smells like sour cream......haha he's got a crazy daddy!

He loves to pull faces and always has a new funny face for us. His favorite is the stink face, with his eyebrows scrunched up and lips puckered.
He weighs 12 lbs. 10 oz.

Lucky Me

I don't have much to say except that I love my little boy and love being a mom. Here's why:

First bath and he loved it. Sorry about the baby talk from me, I didn't know Chase was recording :)

 My two favorite people in the entire universe.

I get to stare at that face all day.

Kruse Has Arrived!

Kruse Andrew Warnick is finally here! He was born at 10:26 pm on Sunday, August 28th. He weighed 8 lbs 13 oz. and was 20 inches long. He is absolutely perfect.

He is such a good baby, he's so sweet and makes the funniest faces! He keeps us entertained for sure. We love you Krusey!

Ok, I know I only post about the baby and/or the nursery, but hey, that baby boy pretty much gets all of our attention already and he's not even here yet! So the only thing I have to post about is the completed nursery. But I'm happy that everything is done and ready, now all we need is a baby to put in there!

My DIY ottoman. I had before pictures but they got deleted off my camera. Chase found an old leather ottoman/footstool at DI for $5. I cleaned it up, covered it with batting and a pillow on top then covered it with fabric. It opens up for storage and allows me to rock the chair because my feet don't even come close to touching the ground. :)

Closet organizers. Cheap wood cutouts from Roberts, some paint, ribbon and leftover fabric. 

I LOVE my blue cradle! Got it as a hand-me-down from my sister in law Kristi and repainted it. Can't wait to put my little baby in there. 

I'm very happy with how the nursery turned out, it makes me smile every time I walk past it. No "theme", just a collection of things that I like! Because almost everything was made by me, I was able to put everything together exactly the way I wanted it for pretty dang cheap! Love it.

Orange Zebra

Oh how I love my orange Zebra rug! I fell in love with this nursery and this rug:

I love everything about this nursery. The green chair, the awesome crib, and of course the rug. I searched and found the rug for a mere $999. REALLY PEOPLE?!?! Because the price tag on that puppy was more than my rent payment and my car payment put together, I needed a different solution. I had all sorts of crazy ideas, and finally thought I would try to replicate the design of the rug and make it into a playmat. I found a pattern here, and enlisted Kara in helping me :) 

Her bro-in-law’s projector was a lifesaver, we couldn’t have done it without it! We taped the fabric on the wall and traced the shape and the stripes. We used two layers of white and one layer of orange. I brought it home and cut everything out, then pinned it all together with a layer of batting. After I sewed all the layers together, I flipped it right-side out then pinned all the stripes down. Many, many, many, MANY hours of tedious appliqué later, it’s finally finished!

I *love* how it turned out, and think it looks so cute on the floor in baby K's room!
